About Me
I train police and other public safety professionals to respond with clarity and recover with ease. Building mental muscle and nervous system stability ensures optimal performance at work and satisfying relationships at home. As the spouse of a police officer, I specialize in working with law enforcement personnel.
-
Train your brain and body to respond to stressful encounters with precision and to quickly regulate afterward.
-
Learn to stop destructive thoughts and quickly shift to a more useful mindset.
-
Fully process stress chemicals out of the body.
Background
I study mental health and anatomy to teach people to optimize their total health and life experience. Marrying a cop led to specializing in the prevention and reversal of nervous system wear-and-tear that comes with high-stress, high-pressure jobs. Outside of this wellness work, my day-job for 20 years has been improving hospital care. From coaching emergency department clinicians to advising healthcare executives to launching technologies that analyze patient data.
No Fluff vs All Fluff: Teaching in a science-based way that eliminates the unnecessary fluff that leads to stereotypes around yoga is important to me. However, there is a very soft side to my life in which I'm a volunteer supporting animal rescue organizations. I've been a foster parent and socialization coach for more than 60 highly traumatized, fearful cats through the Wisconsin Humane Society. I lead tours and meditation/reiki sessions at Tiny Hooves farm sanctuary in Union Grove.
What I Do
I use science-based relatable techniques to help get to the root of your suffering and move through it or past it with greater ease.
-
Layer 1: Yoga with a mental fitness focus uses a specific protocol with breath work and mobility drills to train the mind and nervous system. It is the most approachable starting place for many people because it includes the benefits of building physical strength, stamina, and flexibility. I use the Yoga For First Responders® protocol, ground rules, and curriculum.
-
Layer 2: Coaching identifies the destructive thoughts in your mind that sabotage your life and teaches you to shift to a productive mindset and ease. This work is best started with a commitment to the 6-session program in which you learn and practice with fully guided personalized sessions.
-
Layer 3: Reiki energy sessions create the conditions for deep inner healing in the mind and body. Facilitated by light touch during total stillness, this technique from Japan feels like a massage on the inside, soothing the nervous system.
You can't control what happens around you, but with these techniques, you can feel peace and ease from within.
